Emergency Features Disclaimer & Waiver

KinSwaps may offer community-safety features such as weather and disaster notices, emergency-kit coordination, and matching of volunteers or equipment operators. These features are provided for convenience and community coordination only. By using them, you acknowledge and agree to the following.

1. Not a Substitute for Official Services

KinSwaps is not a primary alerting authority. Where we surface alerts, they are supplemental relaysof official sources such as the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA), FEMA’s IPAWS, and the National Weather Service. Always follow official guidance from emergency officials and the National Weather Service.

2. No Guarantee of Delivery, Accuracy, or Timeliness

Alerts and notices may be delayed, incomplete, inaccurate, or fail to arrive due to factors outside our control (connectivity, device settings, third-party systems, outages). KinSwaps assumes no duty to warn and makes no guarantee that any notification will be delivered or be correct. Do not rely on KinSwaps as your only source of emergency information.

3. Volunteers, Responders & Equipment Are Not Vetted

KinSwaps does not verify the identity, credentials, licensing, training, insurance, or fitness of any volunteer, responder, or equipment operator listed or matched through the platform. Any decision to offer, request, or accept assistance is solely yours and at your own risk. Where possible, coordinate with recognized disaster-response organizations and verify credentials independently.

4. Emergency Kits & Medical Supplies

Information about emergency kits or medical supplies is provided for general informational purposes only and is not medical advice and not a provisioning of medical care or supplies. Consult qualified professionals and follow applicable laws.

5. Assumption of Risk & Release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you assume all risk arising from your use of the emergency and community-safety features, and you release and waive any claims against KinSwaps and its owners for any loss, injury, death, or property damage arising from those features, including reliance on (or absence of) any alert and any interaction with volunteers, responders, or equipment operators. This is in addition to the limitations in the Terms of Service.
